Chakra Pilates is owned and directed by Mariel Filippone. Since 1999, Mariel has worked with clients with chronic back pain, Sciatica, Degenerative Disc Disease, Scoliosis, rehabilitation for neck injury, Hip/Knee problems, Prenatal and Postnatal, and many others... Mariel was chosen by Lolita San Miguel (First Generation Pilates "Elder" who was trained by Joseph Pilates) to train with Lolita for 2 years as her apprentice to preserve "Classic Pilates." Mariel's recognition as a "Second Generation" Master Instructor under Lolita is one of her greatest achievements. Mariel has also studied Pilates with various Master Instructors under Romana in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, and has attended workshops all over the world! Some of Mariel's favorite memories include training Pilates in Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Portugal. Mariel truly enjoys preserving Classic Pilates, training apprentice instructors how to teach, and has enjoyed teaching pre & post-natal "Mommy & Me" classes for years! Mariel is PMA certified, comprehensively trained Pilates Instructor of the Pilates Method, Member of the PMA, and Member of IDEA. Mariel is also the Head Facilitator of the Chakra Pilates Instructor Comprehensive Instructor Program. Mariel is most proud that the Chakra studio is repeatedly voted (through many different voting polls) as one of the BEST Pilates Studio in all of San Diego County!

ABS & BUNS Reformer
Prerequisite: 6 Pilates: Level 1 Reformer classes
An intermediate class designed to reshape the glute muscles, lift the buns, and develop a toned, curvy backside. This exercise will burn fat as it sculpts sexy legs, hips, thighs, glutes, abs and core.
A great workout to isolate and tone those problem areas. If you want rock hard abs, buns of steel and thighs to die for, then this class is for you!
Level 2: JUMPBOARD Reformer
Challenge the core, elevate the heart rate and train coordination. Burn calories and strengthen your muscles while working the core in a different setting. In our practice, we experience great results by adding the cardio section for stress reduction and endurance training.
PILATES: All Apparatus
Pilates: Cardio Circuit Training
Circuit training is an excellent way to simultaneously improve mobility, strength and stamina. This class rotates between cardio exercises and toning exercises by using all Pilates equipment (ie: Chair, barrel...) to tone the entire body.

50/50 Combo Class- Jumpboard/Reformer
Prerequisite: At least 2 Pilates Reformer classes
If you are looking to add a Pilates inspired cardiovascular workout to your regimen, this class is for you! The jump board is a standard piece of Pilates equipment used on the Reformers to provide a fun, challenging alternative to rev up your cardiovascular system. Participants will enjoy an intense, efficient workout that will raise the heart rate while working the core.
